My Boys, the Rascals

Last week my sisters, mother and I headed down to Salt Lake for the Rascal Flatts concert! I was such a fun adventure!

The weather was warm as we spread out our blankets on the lawn. We were so relaxed, napping on the lawn as we waited for the show to start. It was lovely!

...Then, a HUGE, dark storm cloud decided to crash our party and everyone on the lawn began hiding under blankets, as if they were going to protect us from the rain! haha. We got soaked :)

Luckily, the rain/hail only lasted about half an hour. We looked pretty soggy, but the concert was worth every wet little drop!

Justin Moore was the first opening act.

He was followed up by Sara Evans. She was so good!

Then my boys came out and I whooped and jumped up and down, totally ecstatic! You don't understand, I fell in love with Rascal Flatts clear back in my tween years and have followed them ever since, owning every album they have created. Crushes never die when you're crushing on a good thing! They put on a fantastic show. Even Mom was singing and getting her groove on :)

Of course, I had to get a t-shirt of remembrance.

I sure love these girls. All of them. They are my best friends and I am so lucky they are mine forever!

Birthday Fun

I had a fantastic 24th birthday! I was so grateful to have all of my siblings here for the weekend; they always make life more fun! We were able to have a nice big dinner outside on the back patio, complete with mom's chocolate-chocolate ice cream cake...yum!

The pleasant company.

After dinner our family went bowling. We realized it had been a long time since we had been bowling together and we had a blast!

What an awesome day!

Now you see it...

Now you don't! haha. Can you tell what is missing from the bottom picture?

Yup, I finally had the mole on my chin removed. It was kind of hard to do, because this little guy has been a defining feature of mine since I was a baby. But the doctor recommended it come off and I've been very happy with the decision!

Welcome to First Grade!

The school year has begun! I put a lot of hours in during the summer, but I finally got my classroom ready in time for the little munchkins to arrive. The kids are adorable and I am quite excited for this year!

Here are some before and after pictures of my room.

Brandon and I on the first day of school. Every Friday at our school there is a little competition to see which class can wear the most red shirts to show school spirit. I am proud to say that my little kiddos were the winners this week for all of the first grade! Wahoo!

Retirement is Sweet!

I have officially retired my Broulim's apron for good! It's been 4 lovely years but I am grateful to move on. I am getting quite excited for school to begin here in a few weeks!

Little Miss Rose

Since my mom can't use her hands to do yard work right now, she asked us kids to help her out this morning. Brandon was asked to trim the rose bushes, while Mel did the pansies and I worked on the petunias.

This is what I found when I peeked out the front door....

Haha, he is so cute! What an awesome kid.

A Major Update (Dedicated to Mrs. Mower)

This post is dedicated to Mrs. Jessica Mower for mocking me about not ever updating my blog :)

Mel and I got to spend a fun sister's weekend in Salt Lake with Jamie. We have so much fun when we are together! We ate, shopped, and just enjoyed being together.

Brandon ordered a red, full-body spandex suit which he loves. It is so funny! He wears it all too frequently :)

We spent the weekend of the 4th fishing at the ponds! Getting up at 5:00 a.m. to head up to the ponds can make us a little bit silly! We started naming the fish and Mom even started talking to the worm on her hook! haha. We have a wonderful time!

Dad said that he would pay $5 to the person who caught the first fish of the morning. Well, you can imagine how thrilled I was when shortly after that my line wiggled! I named him Buck :)

...Don't ask.
Brandon tried putting a fruit snack on the end of his hook. Needless to say it didn't work!

Fishing up at the ponds in the early morning hours reminds me of how beautiful our area really is! I am grateful to live here.

On the 4th we went to the parade, then spent the afternoon with relatives in Idaho Falls and watched the I.F. fireworks. They were beautiful once again!

Mom brought some glow sticks for the kids... haha. Yeah, he's probably the biggest kid of all!

A week or so ago, Mom, Dad, Mel, Brandon and I got to go to the American Idol tour in Salt Lake! It is kind of our family show and we love watching it together. This is the second Idol tour we have been able to go to and we LOVED it! We even had great seats.
Our excited faces.
Haley Reinhart (Brandon's crush) and Casey Abrams
Lauren Alaina
And best of all, Scotty McCreery! I love him!
Two of my very best friends. I'm so glad we got to have this fun adventure together!
To top off these amazing couple of weeks, we got to meet up with Jamie and spend a day at Lagoon. It was fun to run from ride to ride and hit as many as we could while the lines were short. We also got to spend a few hours at Lagoon A Beach to cool off from being in the hot sun!

The Rocket. It is so much better of a ride if you take your shoes off :)
Our most recent adventure is Mom having both of her wrists operated on due to carpal tunnel. She has been having severe pain in her wrists for quite a while and decided that it was time to get it taken care of. So we have been able to serve her lots this past week as she can't do anything. It is a nice change because she spends all of her time serving everybody else, so I am glad that she has been able to relax and rest. However, I do wonder if she might be relaxing a bit too much because yesterday she said, "It's the drugs man! It's a great life!" haha. She is the best!
