A Quarter of a Century

This post is dedicated to my adorable cousin Mel G. A promise is a promise :)

I am lucky enough to be born around the Labor Day holiday, so I am blessed to hardly ever have school held on my birthday. Jamie was able to come up for the weekend and the fam got to spend the day together! We ended the night with Oreo dessert with Grandma and Grandpa Risenmay!

Mel and Matt drove home across the country just a few days before my birthday and brought me this bday raccoon skin cap from South Dakota.

We all thought it looked extra cute on Grandpa!

I have been blessed to have some awesome roommates! We get along so well and have a lot of fun together!

Mustache Night... Just because we can :) 

We got to go to General Conference! We were so grateful to Jamie's roommate for hooking us up with tickets 19 rows from the pulpit! It was amazing.

 A group of us girlfriends spent an evening at the Blackfoot Fair!

 

Life is so good! I have a wonderful job with kids that I love. I am grateful to be serving in several callings in my ward and stake. I have wonderful friends and family who make me so happy.

25 is going to be a great year!

My Boys, the Rascals

Last week my sisters, mother and I headed down to Salt Lake for the Rascal Flatts concert! I was such a fun adventure!

The weather was warm as we spread out our blankets on the lawn. We were so relaxed, napping on the lawn as we waited for the show to start. It was lovely!

...Then, a HUGE, dark storm cloud decided to crash our party and everyone on the lawn began hiding under blankets, as if they were going to protect us from the rain! haha. We got soaked :)

Luckily, the rain/hail only lasted about half an hour. We looked pretty soggy, but the concert was worth every wet little drop!

He was followed up by Sara Evans. She was so good!

Then my boys came out and I whooped and jumped up and down, totally ecstatic! You don't understand, I fell in love with Rascal Flatts clear back in my tween years and have followed them ever since, owning every album they have created. Crushes never die when you're crushing on a good thing! They put on a fantastic show. Even Mom was singing and getting her groove on :)

Of course, I had to get a t-shirt of remembrance.

I sure love these girls. All of them. They are my best friends and I am so lucky they are mine forever!

Birthday Fun

I had a fantastic 24th birthday! I was so grateful to have all of my siblings here for the weekend; they always make life more fun! We were able to have a nice big dinner outside on the back patio, complete with mom's chocolate-chocolate ice cream cake...yum!

After dinner our family went bowling. We realized it had been a long time since we had been bowling together and we had a blast!

Yup, I finally had the mole on my chin removed. It was kind of hard to do, because this little guy has been a defining feature of mine since I was a baby. But the doctor recommended it come off and I've been very happy with the decision!

Welcome to First Grade!

The school year has begun! I put a lot of hours in during the summer, but I finally got my classroom ready in time for the little munchkins to arrive. The kids are adorable and I am quite excited for this year!

Brandon and I on the first day of school. Every Friday at our school there is a little competition to see which class can wear the most red shirts to show school spirit. I am proud to say that my little kiddos were the winners this week for all of the first grade! Wahoo!

Retirement is Sweet!

I have officially retired my Broulim's apron for good! It's been 4 lovely years but I am grateful to move on. I am getting quite excited for school to begin here in a few weeks!

Little Miss Rose

Since my mom can't use her hands to do yard work right now, she asked us kids to help her out this morning. Brandon was asked to trim the rose bushes, while Mel did the pansies and I worked on the petunias.

This is what I found when I peeked out the front door....
